An event was held Sunday for those who wanted to shed pounds for a good cause.

 

Residents took part in a two-hour Spinathon and Zumbathon at the The Whitehall Club & Health Spa in Riverdale.

The event was held to raise money for the Riverdale Kingsbridge Academy's physical education department.

"It's been great," said event organizer Amy Carrie. "We've had a lot people that aren't even affiliated with the school coming to donate and to participate. They've been really excited, so we feel like its been a great start to what we hope to be a fundraiser that we can do in the future."
