A restaurant that's been the backdrop for many Throgs Neck memories over the past 20 years is now set to close.
Peter Spoto, the owner of Spoto's Restaurant, says he the decision to shut down was not easy.
"It breaks my heart to have to give up the restaurant but at this point in time, it's the right decision," he says.
Spoto took over the family business years ago, and it was that sense of family that kept customers coming back.
The father of three says that he needs some time at home to spend with his family.
The Spoto family opened their doors exclusively to family and friends Sunday to reminisce about the last 20-plus years.
