The third annual Bronx Children's Museum gala took place in Manhattan Tuesday night to benefit the borough's first children's museum opening next year.

The event also honored Rita Moreno and her 70-year career in the arts. Moreno has won a Tony, Emmy, Grammy and an Oscar during her esteemed career.

Other Bronx natives attended the event, including Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. and actress Kerry Washington.

Children performed while guests dined and participated in an auction.

The museum currently operates out of a converted school bus that arrived in Manhattan Tuesday. But it will soon be housed in a brand new brick and mortar facility.

The new space will be located near Yankee Stadium in the South Bronx and is slated to open in 2020.
