Police are searching for three men they say are connected to a gunpoint robbery at a store Monday in Morris Park.
The owner of Coqui Sales Appliances says a man entered his store around 10:30 a.m. pretending to by a refrigerator. The man then claimed to make a phone call to his wife and left the store momentarily due to bad reception.
That's when the owner says the man came back with a gun and two others, and took him downstairs to his office at gunpoint.
The robbers then stole the store's safe, which the owner says contained $90,000, along with his wallet and chain.
Some nearby students were not allowed outside for recess because of the crime.
Police say one of the suspects was last seen wearing a gray hoodie and tan pants. Another wore a white T-shirt, black vest and blue jeans, and a third had his face covered and wore a red hoodie and blue jeans. The third, police say, had the gun.
The owner says he was in the store alone when the incident happened and did not recognize the suspects, but feels someone close to him may have been feeding them information.
Police ask anyone with information to reach out.
