24-year-old shot, killed days ahead of commencement

The family of a 24-year-old slain Wednesday night in the Bronx is now left to plan his funeral instead of a graduation party.
Ryan Ginyard was shot in the torso around 9:15 p.m. at Mount Hope Playground and taken to St. Barnabas Hospital, according to police. He was days away from becoming a dental assistant.
"Wednesday he came home with his cap and gown and he was on his way to the park to meet his friend so he could give him a ticket to his graduation," says Lori Ginyard, the victim's mother. "That was the same night he was shot."
Instead of celebrating Ginyard's milestone, his family is now searching for information about his killer.
Police are offering a $2,500 reward for information about the shooting.
