Bronx man sentenced to 18 years for fatal 2013 shooting

A Bronx man was sentenced Thursday to 18 years in prison and five years of parole for the fatal 2013 shooting of a teenager in Longwood.
Raul Pacheco pleaded guilty to shooting and killing 17-year-old Alphonza Bryant. He apologized in court during the sentencing for his actions.
As News 12 has reported, police say Pacheco and another man, Eric Landron, who are both reputed members of the Latin Kings gang, admitted to shooting Bryant in the chest. Bryant was not the intended target of the shooting, but wound up in the crossfire and later died.
Bryant's family says they are thankful for closure after three long, emotional years of grieving and hoping for justice.
The district attorney's office says Landron will likely be sentenced at the end of July.
