The NYPD is asking the public for feedback while considering a program that permits its officers to wear body cameras. 

Police say the NYPD has asked the Policing Project at New York University School of Law to gather public input on how the cameras should be used.

The NYPD says it plans on launching a one-year pilot program to determine whether body-worn cameras can help to encourage lawful and respectful police-citizen interactions and improve both officer and public safety.

You can fill out a brief questionnaire by visiting policingproject.org and searching for body-worn camera feedback. 

The NYPD says those who take the survey should review the main points in the NYPD proposed policy.

They say those interested in taking the survey can also upload a full set of comments to the page.
