Body found in plastic bag at Bronx marina

A body was found at a Bronx marina Tuesday afternoon.

Police say the body was discovered in a plastic bag at the Hammond Cove Marina, located at 140 Reynolds Ave. in the Locust Point section of the borough.

EMS says it received a call reporting the body around 12:15 p.m.

Authorities say a gender could not be identified because of the badly decomposed state of the body. They say it was wrapped in plastic and then stuffed into a box.

The medical examiner will work to determine the cause of death.
