Changes are coming to a Bronx street that's currently on the city's list for safety improvements.

According to the city's Department of Transportation, 28 people were killed or severely injured on Castle Hill Avenue from East Tremont to Hart Street between 2010 and 2014.

Changes to the 2-mile section will include turning lanes, bike lanes, pedestrians islands and crossings and designated parking lanes.

The Castle Hill Avenue corridor improvements are part of the mayor's Vision Zero initiative to eliminate pedestrian accidents and fatalities on busy roadways.

Some residents say they don't think the improvements will help, citing overcrowding in the area. Others say they believe that any measure that will help curb speeding and make it safer for drivers and pedestrians is a move in the right direction.
