Woman dies in Bronx apartment fire

A woman died after a fire broke out inside her Bronx apartment Saturday night.



The flames sparked around 9:30 p.m. inside a sixth floor apartment on Oakland Place.



Crews found a 73-year-old woman unconscious and unresponsive inside the apartment.



She was pronounced dead at the scene.



Building residents described the woman as a good neighbor, and they believe she used a wheelchair.



Her identity has not been released at this time.
