Police: Man shot in leg over parking space in the Bronx

A man was shot after being accused of stealing a parking spot in the Bronx, according to police.
It happened around 9:15 p.m. Sunday on the corner of Walton Avenue and Marcy Place in Mount Eden.
Police say the 43-year-old man was parking his mini-van when he was approached by a man in his late 20s who argued the parking spot was his. The argument escalated, police say, when the younger man pulled out a gun and shot the Bronx father in his left knee.
The wife of the victim says her husband limped to their apartment where he had just dropped off his wife and four children and told her to call the police.
Neighbors say there have been parking issues plaguing the area for years.
"You have other people always holding spots for other cars," Theresa Moore, a neighbor who lives in the area, says. "Sometimes in the summer people place chairs in spots, eventually something like this was going to happen."
The victim was rushed to Lincoln Hospital where he underwent surgery and is listed in stable condition.
The man accused of pulling the trigger fled the location, and police say they are still looking for him.
