Upgrades begin at 2 Bronx parks

Workers began renovations Thursday on two Bronx parks that critics say have been neglected for decades.

The city's ongoing Community Park Initiative is updating parks around New York, and Hunts Point and Crotona Park East are the latest beneficiaries.

Seabury Park and Lyons Playground are benefiting from the $200 million capital funding program.

They will receive new basketball courts, fitness equipment and green spaces by next year.

In all, more than 60 parks across the city will get renovations by 2019.
