New study finds city ATMs covered in bacteria

A new study released by the American Society of Microbiology says ATMs in New York City are crawling with bacteria.
The study found that the automated machines are covered in microbes from human skin, food and household surfaces including restrooms.
Investigators swabbed keypads at 66 ATMs across several boroughs. The study also found bacteria from seafood and chicken was present.
Those involved in the study say ATMs inside laundromats and stores had the most bacteria.
