Peace organization kicks off monthlong celebration in the Bronx

One national organization promoting peace throughout the month of December started its celebration in the Bronx on Wednesday.

The group Peace aims at bringing people together and making a difference. Over the course of the month, its 16 chapters across the country will promote the pursuit of peace.

The New York chapter started its celebration by bringing brightness to a month with the shortest days and longest nights by lighting 193 candles for each country in the United Nations.

To further unite the people of New York, the group will host an independent film festival and music marathon in December as well.
