Man, firefighter injured in Baychester house fire

A Bronx man is in critical condition and a firefighter was seriously injured after a fire burned through a Baychester home early Sunday morning.
Neighbors say the Corsa Avenue home caught fire at around 7:45 a.m.
They say they awoke to the smell of smoke and their neighbor knocking at their door to alert them that his home was on fire.
Witnesses also say a firefighter fell off the roof of the home trying to extinguish the fire. His condition is unknown at this time.
The homeowner was rushed to Jacobi Medical Center in critical condition.
The cause of the fire is not yet known.
