Bronx woman accused of assaulting 90-year-old woman during attempted robbery

A Bronx woman attacked a 90-year-old woman in Manhattan during an attempted robbery, police say.



The incident happened on Sept. 27 near 5th Avenue and West 12th Street.



Police say Lillian Maduro, 49, approached the 90-year-old woman and tried to grab a duffle bag from her hands.



Maduro pushed the woman to the ground and struggled to get her bag before giving up and running away.



The victim was transported to Mount Sinai Beth Israel where she was treated and released. 



Maduro has been charged with robbery and assault charges.
