'Tis the Season: Special-needs students host holiday recital

A group of special-needs students celebrated the season Thursday with song and dance in their school's holiday recital.
The New York Institute for Special Education is a school for the visually impaired and mentally challenged. It hosts a holiday performance each year for students' families and friends.
The event included students singing Christmas songs, playing instruments and dancing.
"It's really fun because you get to express yourself," student Aolani Cruz told News 12 The Bronx.
Students and teachers prepare for this event months in advance.
Teachers say the annual recital helps to boost students' self-confidence.
