Police release sketch of fatal shooting suspect

Police have released a sketch of a suspect believed to be responsible for the shooting death of a Bronx man.

Corey Smith, 24, was shot and killed Tuesday night in the area of 175th Street and Crotona Park North, police say.

The suspect has been described as having a light to medium dark complexion and is between 20 to 25 years old. He was last seen wearing a black coat and skullcap.

Police responded to a call for a person shot, and found Smith lying unconscious and unresponsive with multiple gunshot wounds.

He was transported to St. Barnabas Hospital and pronounced dead.

Smith's sister says he was the father of a 5-year-old boy and a 3-year-old girl.

The Bronx father was a resident of the Monroe Houses in Soundview. His family says he was undergoing job training to become a construction worker.

Anyone with information is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
