Off-duty FDNY firefighter slashed during attempted robbery

An off-duty FDNY firefighter was slashed when two men tried to rob him of his Christmas presents early Sunday morning.

Police say the 41-year-old firefighter was assaulted around 12:30 a.m. after pulling over on Randall and Bolton avenues to readjust the presents he had in his trunk.

Authorities say two men approached him, started a fight, and slashed him in the shoulder.

He was taken to Jacobi Medical Center and received seven stitches.
