Cops probe rash of smartphone robberies

A recent rash of smartphone robberies has police on the hunt for several suspects.
In the first case, cops say two young men have been going up and down Westchester Avenue, robbing teenage boys at gunpoint and stealing their phones. Police say the suspects have done this at least three times since Sept. 24.
In the second incident, police say a 19-year-old man pulled out a gun and demanded a teenage boy's cell phone. It happened last Thursday night on Hoffman Street and East 191st Street.
None of the victims were hurt. Anyone with information is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
