Cops: Tool thief strikes twice in Claremont

Police are looking to throw a wrench in a suspected tool thief's plan before he strikes again.

Authorities say they're searching for a suspect who was first caught on camera sliding open the door of a van on East 170th Street on Sept. 27 and walking away with cases full of hardware.

The same man made away with more tools from a different van parked in the same location on Monday, according to cops.

Residents say the area is known for car break-ins and they've learned not to keep anything in their vehicles.
