Thousands turn out for annual Tunnel to Towers run

More than 30,000 people laced up their running shoes for the 11th annual Tunnel to Towers run on Sunday.
The 5K event honors firefighter Stephen Siller, along with other first responders, who lost their lives while trying to rescue others on Sept. 11.
Participants lined up in Brooklyn and raced through the Battery Tunnel to Ground Zero. Many wore full firefighting gear, just as Siller did when he ran the same route 11 years ago.
The race has raised more than $15 million for wounded soldiers and other military causes, and benefits the Stephen Siller Foundation.
