MTA won't pay up for lost rides during Sandy

The MTA has swiped down MetroCard refunds for riders affected by Superstorm Sandy.
The agency says it won't reimburse unlimited 30- or 7-day cards purchased before the storm hit.
A member of the commuter advocacy group Straphangers says he's not shocked by the decision, adding that free fares offered on the Thursday and Friday following Sandy were a good gesture.
