Marble Hill fire displaces 16 residents

A two-alarm fire ripped through a home in Marble Hill Wednesday, leaving more than a dozen people displaced.
Firefighters were called to the scene of Van Corlear Place at around 8 p.m. They say the second floor was engulfed in flames when they arrived at the house.
Authorities say only one person was in the house at the time of the fire, and they were not injured.
One resident says there are illegally converted rooms in the house, but the fire chief did not confirm that.
A total of 14 people are being helped by the Red Cross, while two other tenants have found somewhere to stay on their own.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
