Video shows suspects in violent robbery

Police have released surveillance video of two suspects in a violent robbery at a Bronx subway stop.

According to investigators, a 32-year-old man was assaulted while walking down the steps to leave the Bronx Park East station for the 2 or 5 trains at around 4 a.m. on March 28.

They say the suspects demanded that the victim give up his backpack and wallet, but when he refused, they pushed him to the ground, and kicked and punched him repeatedly. They then stole his wallet and ran away.

The victim was treated and released from Jacobi Medical Center.

The men are both described as being African-American, between 18 and 20 years old, and about 180 pounds. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS
