Hillary Clinton hits road to push her vision for America
Hillary Clinton is wasting no time beginning her presidential campaign after making her 2016 bid for the White House official.
Clinton's campaign headquarters is in Brooklyn, but she has already hit the road with her first stop on the campaign trail being Iowa. While there, she'll take part in small business roundtables and allow people to get to know her in a more intimate setting instead of a large rally.
The former first lady, U.S. senator and secretary of state made her big announcement Sunday via a video message in which she says, "Everyday Americans need a champion. I want to be that champion." It is the second time she has made a run after coming in third during the 2008 caucuses.
Republicans moved quickly to criticize Clinton when rumors of her bid began. Rand Paul released the first ad slamming her as the worst of the Washington machine, and former presidential candidate Mitt Romney made his own stabs.
Meanwhile, Gov. Andrew Cuomo has already endorsed Clinton, while Mayor Bill de Blasio says he's holding off on making a decision to throw his support behind her until he hears her vision for America.
The election is still a long way off, but Clinton would be making history if she wins, becoming not only the first woman president, but also the first presidential spouse to lead the country.
