Suspect wanted for attempted rape of 15-year-old

The NYPD is looking for a young man who allegedly tried to rape a teenage girl in the Bronx.

According to police, the suspect was caught on surveillance video following the 15-year-old into an apartment building on Hoffman Street and up a stairwell Wednesday afternoon.

When they reached the fifth floor, cops say he grabbed the girl from behind and attempted to sexually assault her. However, the teen fought back and the suspect took off after stealing her iPhone.

He's described as being black and 16 to 18 years old. He has short hair, and was last seen wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, black sneakers and a black T-shirt with a design.
