Bronx gets new parks commissioner

The New York City Parks Department has named a new Bronx parks commissioner and she's no stranger to the Bronx.
Iris Rodriguez-Rosa says she is excited about her new job. She served as the Bronx chief of recreation from 1994 to 2006.
Rodriguez-Rosa says she has big plans for Bronx parks. She says she wants to develop capital improvements so that parks can provide programming. She also wants to develop community partnerships.
Rodriguez-Rosa has already started working on getting fitness facilities in all the parks. To make sure the community stays involved, she plans to hold at least one meeting a month so residents can give their input.
