Funeral held for Bronx mother of 13

A mother to 13 children was remembered Wednesday by those who grew up at the Andrew Jackson Houses and say she was their mom, too.
Rosalyn Byrd died last week after battling cancer for a year. The 78-year-old had 13 children, including six stepchildren, 19 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
A horse-drawn carriage carrying her casket looped around the Andrew Jackson Houses in Melrose, where she was a mother figure to many residents.
Neighbors say Byrd's procession was wonderful because it represented how beautiful she was.
The wake for Byrd was held Tuesday. It was also attended by dozens of people who grew up at the Andrew Jackson Houses.
