Gun stolen during assault on off-duty female officer

Police now have a photo of the suspect who attacked an off-duty officer Wednesday morning.

A 41-year-old off-duty police officer known as Nilda was on her way to work early Wednesday morning when she was attacked inside the parking garage of her building on Bronx Boulevard.

Investigators the victim's gun was inside her purse. The attacker punched her in the face before taking off with both her weapon and bag.

Tenant Teresa Dotel says that she had seen the attacker before and had missed him by just a few minutes before the victim was attacked Wednesday.

"I saw this guy last week on Thursday and I told my husband, 'you see I saw this guy, he doesn't live in this building he doesn't park in this parking,'" says Dotel.

Police describe the suspect as approximately 6 feet tall and weighing around 150 pounds. He was last seen wearing a white tank top and dark pants.
