4 businesses damaged in 2-alarm Wakefield fire

Firefighters in Wakefield were busy Wednesday afternoon dealing with a two-alarm fire.

Emergency crews say the flames broke out just before 3 p.m. on White Plains Road.

The fire department says more than 100 firefighters were on hand to put out the flames.

Four businesses were damaged in the blaze.

Officials say no injuries were reported, but subway service was delayed for the 2 train between Gun Hill Road and Wakefield while the FDNY investigated the fire.
