Suspect charged in shooting of off-duty officer

A suspect has been charged in connection with the shooting of an off-duty police officer in East New York.

According to police, 22-year-old Tori Saunders is facing a long list of charges, including two counts of attempted murder, robbery and criminal use of a firearm.

Investigators say housing Officer Tramaine Oxley was in the passenger seat of his cousin's car on Linden Boulevard Tuesday night when two men came up and robbed them. Shots were fired, hitting Oxley once in the arm and grazing his chest.

Sources say that Oxley fired back at least four times. He was treated at Brookdale Hospital and is now recovering at home.

Saunders was caught on Long Island Wednesday night.
