Bronx woman wins furnished apartment in raffle

A Bronx woman won a fully furnished apartment in a raffle.
Gloria Velez and her daughter, Nicole, were about to move into the Mother Arnetta Crawford Apartments when they heard about a raffle drawing that the building developers were having.
Velez had already signed the lease for the affordable-housing apartment, but it will now come fully furnished.
The apartment developer is a Bronx native who is passionate about low-income housing.
"We are really going to be improving the lives of people in the Bronx," says Rella Fogliano, the president of MacQuesten Development.
Velez says that winning the lottery is a life-changing experience and the best news she has received all year.
