Officials and community leaders are celebrating a major enrollment milestone for the IDNYC program.

Lincoln Medical Center has seen more applicants than any other site in the borough. News 12 is told that about 30,000 people have signed up for the program since the hospital's center opened in April.

In total, about 500,000 people have signed up for the program since it launched in January.

Nisha Agarwal, the commissioner of the mayor's Office of Immigrant Affairs, says that IDNYC is a single card that allows all New Yorkers to connect with their local government and health services.

Benefits of the IDNYC card include discounts at more than 2,000 pharmacies, discounts at health, fitness and park recreation centers, and access to vital health records through the city's Department of Health. Cardholders can also easily apply for health insurance through the state's health care marketplace.

Queens has the highest number of applicants among the five boroughs with more than 160,000. The Bronx has had about 90,000 applicants.

Thursday's announcement came as the mayor's Office of Immigrant Affairs launched a two-week initiative to ensure that more people sign up for IDNYC.
