Fordham students spruce up neighborhood

Freshmen at Fordham University have spent the past few days getting acclimated to their new home, and some of them have set out to spruce up the neighborhood.

A group of students are planning to beautify a part of the university near Fordham and Creston avenues by planting flowers.

The students are members of the Urban Plunge Program, which received help from the Fordham Business Improvement District to spruce up the community.

Officials say the project is a great way to get students involved in the community.

The Fordham Business Improvement District has plans to take a group of students on a tour of the neighborhood Saturday.
