Thieves steal thousands in jewelry heist

Police say thieves stole thousands of dollars in jewelry during an elaborate heist in Fordham.

They say it happened at around 3 a.m. at Abbasi Jewelry on East Fordham Road.

Police say the thieves entered the store through the roof and stole $100,000 in jewelry. Workers say that once inside, the thieves also cut the store's video cameras, making it difficult to identify them.

Officials say they haven't recovered any pictures of the suspects yet, but the investigation is still underway.
