Bronx mother, children recover after pedestrian crash

A Bronx mother and four children are still recovering after a car plowed into them at a school bus stop Wednesday morning.
Police say a 2014 black Toyota was traveling southbound on East Kingsbridge Road when the driver lost control and struck the pedestrians.
Three of the five victims remain hospitalized at Jacobi Medical Center. One is in critical condition.
Other parents say they're uneasy about the intersection and want the bus stop moved to a less-trafficked location.
Witnesses say the driver was on his cellphone as he crashed into the crowd.
The driver works for ride-hailing service Uber. News 12 was told that he has been suspended by the Taxi and Limousine Commission.
Neighbors on the block say they were not shocked that the crash occurred. They say the intersection is a magnet for speeders and that other crashes have occurred in the past.
