Thousands participate in Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk

Breast cancer survivors and advocates converged on Orchard Beach on Sunday in hopes of finding a cure.
People participated in the 13th annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk. After coming to the Bronx with 500 walkers in 2003, Making Strides attracted 12,000 people for this year's event.
Many survivors and their families were also there spreading awareness about the epidemic that kills nearly 40,000 women each year.
The walk also included music and activities on the beach such as makeovers for the breast cancer survivors.
