Corrections officer attacked at Rikers
A corrections officer at Rikers Island was attacked Thursday evening.
EMS confirms the assault occurred just after 5 p.m. The officer was taken to Elmhurst Hospital.
A source tells News 12 that one inmate put the officer in a chokehold while another inmate slashed the officers in the face and arm.
