MTA plans to extend wireless service to subway stations

The MTA teamed up with Transit Wireless to announce that 146 stations are now connected throughout the city.
One of those stations includes the Yankee Stadium stop at East 161st Street, bringing the total number of underground stations with Wi-Fi in the Bronx to 21.
The citywide project required more than 4,500 antennas and 90 miles of fiber optic cables.
The next phase for the project will connect an additional 37 stations in Brooklyn and Lower Manhattan next year.
To log on, users need to find the Transit Wireless network on their mobile device.
