Massive mural in the Bronx hopes to spread organ donor awareness

A massive mural was unveiled in the south Bronx to raise awareness about organ donation.

The mural was unveiled on the Zaro Bakery building on Bruckner Boulevard in Mott Haven.

Bakery owners say they hope the images and bright colors will inspire the thousands of people who pass by it to register to become a donor.

New York State ranks last in the country when it comes to the number of registered donors.

Officials say a New Yorker dies every 18 hours while waiting for an organ transplant.
