Mayor Bill De Blasio signs Department of Veterans' Services law

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio has officially signed the Department of Veterans' Services law.



The move comes in the wake of de Blasio's addition of extra funding and staff for former soldiers.



De Blasio has promised to end veteran homelessness and expand job opportunities for veterans. 



The mayor also urged anyone who is looking to rent an apartment to a veteran to call 311.
