Bronx McDonald's manager fatally stabbed
A man stabbed and killed the manager of a McDonald's early Monday morning, police say.
Police say the suspect was a frequent customer at the 24-hour fast-food restaurant at 5765 Broadway. Officials believe he is homeless.
At around 4 a.m., police say the suspect began arguing with the 28-year-old manager, Adam Garcia.
The suspect, described as a Hispanic man in his mid-30s, stabbed Garcia in the back and chest several times before fleeing, according to police. They say he was wearing jeans and a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt.
Garcia was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital about an hour later.
Witnesses say the suspect had been sitting in the restaurant for hours. They say Garcia asked the man to leave and the two walked out together just moments before the stabbing.
Family members say Garcia lived less than a mile from the fast-food restaurant, which is across the street from the 50th Precinct. He was the father of an infant son.
Garcia's parents say he was a night manager at the location for about three years.
Police are asking anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
