New BJs store creates traffic headache for neighbors

A new shopping center at Riverdale Crossing has led to traffic congestion in the surrounding area, according to neighbors.
The shopping center fully launched last week with the opening of a BJs Wholesale Club. Now, residents say they face bumper-to-bumper traffic on Broadway that extends beyond the normal rush hour.
They're asking the Department of Transportation to address the congestion, which they blame on insufficient exits and entrances, as well as inadequate parking.
City Councilman Andrew Cohen says he and other elected officials sent a letter to the DOT Tuesday asking for a traffic study in the area.
The DOT says it will look into the issue.
