NYPD: Man shot, gun recovered on Tinton Ave.

Police shot a man in the arm and found a gun Monday in Morrisania, according to authorities.

Witnesses say they heard someone shouting "Put it down!" repeatedly. Others say they saw the armed man near the housing complex.
Police say the officers also went to the hospital for observation but were not injured.
