Family of hit-and-run victim want changes to crosswalk

The family of a hit-and-run victim in the Bronx wants to make sure other families don't experience the kind of loss it endured.
Jose Contreras, 63, was hit and killed Feb. 28 at the intersection of Webster Avenue and the Cross Bronx Expressway after leaving a family party.
Three weeks after the incident, the driver involved has still not been found.
Members of Contreras' family want the city to make changes to the intersection.
The crosswalk signal at the intersection lights up, letting people cross the street. At the same time, so does a green light, allowing cars rounding the corner to get onto the Cross Bronx Expressway.
There is no painted crosswalk at the intersection.
