Hunts Point walking tour offers glimpse at history

Some residents took a walking tour of Hunts Point Saturday in an effort to learn more about the neighborhood.

The historic stroll, hosted by the Bronx County Historical Society, took an in-depth look at the Hunt family and the legacy they left in some neighborhood sites.

In fact, Curtis Hunt - a tour participant - says his namesake dates back to the founders of Hunts Point in the 1670s.

The last stop on the tour was Drake Park, where the Hunt family is buried.

The historical society will be taking a walking tour next month through Pelham Bay.
