New school at busy intersection worries parents

Residents say a new school under construction at White Plains Road and Bruckner Boulevard is in a dangerous place.

According to the city's own Vision Zero website, eight people were injured in traffic incidents at the same intersection.

So far in 2016, two more people were hurt.

Parents in the area say they worry that the school's future students will have a dangerous time coming and going to school.

The Department of Education says it's working with the Department of Transportation on traffic safety.

Education officials say they need a new school in the area because of overcrowding.
