Police seek suspects in 2 attempted rapes

Police are searching for two men wanted in two separate incidents of attempted rape.

Police released video of the first suspect, who they say approached a 42-year-old woman from behind, grabbed her and pushed her in between two cars near 197th Street and Claflin Avenue on Sept. 20.

Police say the victim screamed, causing the suspect to run off. The woman was not injured.

In a separate incident, police say a suspect approached a 21-year-old woman on Tillotson Avenue as she walked out of the Baychester train station.

News 12 is told the man pushed her to the ground, fondled her and attempted to rape her, but she was able to get away.

Anyone with information on either incident is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
