2 arrested after teen assaulted by group in Luna Park

Two teens have been arrested in connection to a video that shows a 16-year-old boy being attacked in Coney Island.
The incident happened Sunday outside Luna Park on West 12th Street and Surf Avenue.
Police say the 16- and 17-year-old were arrested for their alleged roles in the assault.
A 16-year-old can be seen getting kicked and punched by a large group while on the ground.
The victim's mother, who reported the attack to police, says he got into an argument with a group of about 10 people. She says that escalated into the assault.
He was transported to the hospital in critical condition with a partially collapsed lung.
Sunday's incident was not isolated. Police say several other people were assaulted in the area.
They say a 26-year-old woman was hit in the face by an unknown man. She was treated on the scene and police are still looking for a suspect in that case.
Park officials issued a statement saying, "The Coney Island community is deeply disturbed by these events and we will continue working with the city to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment."
Police also responded to the amusement area Sunday for a report of shots fired. Although, police later confirmed the shots never occurred and that the gun shot sounds came from a glass bottle shattering .
Investigators have identified three other people in the video and say at least eight others are wanted in connection to the assault.
Police say they have already begun heightening security around the boardwalk area.
